As pressure continues to mount across agencies, performance is no longer just about output or speed – it’s about creating environments where people can do their best work consistently, without burnout.

A recent article from The Drum explores the rise of coaching and performance psychology in the agency landscape.

Among the experts weighing in was Mark Watson, tms’ Managing Director, Europe and International, who shared his perspective on how companies can get the most value out of professional coaching.

The value of consultants is often defined less by them and more by those hiring them. Specifically, a genuine commitment to change. Investing time and money in consultants while eschewing their insight, then wondering why nothing changes, is akin to hiring personal trainers, never doing the workouts, and questioning why you’re not stronger.

tms’ Managing Director, EU

Mark emphasizes that the coaches appointed are just as important as the businesses’ willingness to listen to their advice – leadership must be open to feedback and willing to make impactful strategic changes for coaching to truly be effective.
