Holiday volunteering recap: tms reaches 9,000-hour goal!
tms finished off the year strong with a plethora of festive volunteering events that employees participated in! We successfully reached our volunteer goal of 9,000 hours, a testament to tms employees’ commitment to bettering our earth and our Better Future Blueprint framework.
Read below for a recap of our jolliest volunteering events:
tms Hong Kong
tms Hong Kong massively contributed to the creation of Hong Kong’s newest Ronald McDonald House in the Kwun Tong district. Due to the tight deadline, this RMHC would not have been able to open on time without the help of 50 tms employees and their families who diligently helped construct and decorate the rooms. The 16-story building boasts 66 rooms, equipped with various common areas such as a music room, family library, shared kitchen, laundry room, study rooms, a gym and more, allowing staff to facilitate a range of activities to help kids and their caregivers, in addition to supporting volunteer services.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the tms Hong Kong team for going above and beyond in their commitment to their community and ensuring the RMHC would be open for families in need this holiday season.
tms Munich
The tms team in Germany volunteered at a RMHC Vogtareuth, where they decorated the home with Christmas decorations for children and families staying there to enjoy. While one team bought a 3-metre-high Christmas tree and decorated the house, the other team baked almost 500 cookies and decorated them with colorful sprinkles. The entire home was lit up with Christmas cheer with children running around and parents admiring the Christmas tree – a heartwarming sight tms Germany will not forget.
tms London
tms London got in the holiday spirit by venturing over to the RMHC Evelina House and turning one of their meeting rooms into Santa’s grotto! The room was adorned with Christmas trees, a miniature sleigh, reindeer, snowmen, and wrapped presents, in hopes of bringing the families who stay there some joy and hope.
Our London team also volunteered at the Blackfriars settlement where they cooked lunch for 35 people. The team did it all – bringing supplies, setting up tables, cooking, serving, and cleaning up of course! Started by volunteers, the Blackfriars settlement has provided the community with resources and support for over 130 years through education, access to medical care, and more.
tms Chicago
tms Chicago ran a children’s book drive all fall to donate to Bernie’s Book Bank, a non-profit organization which sources and distributes free books to children in hopes of strengthening their reading skills and putting them on a path of success. We collected hundreds of children’s books which a small group of employees then dropped off at their location in Lake Bluff, and our finance department also held another individual event where they helped inspect about 4,500 books to ensure they were appropriate to send to children.
Its a privilege to work for a company dedicated to supporting our communities and providing employees with the time and opportunities to volunteer. We have an amazing group of employees who took advantage of this opportunity to exceed our goal and make a big impact at organizations and causes dear to them.
Thank you to all tms employees who participated in any volunteer event this year and contributed to us meeting our 9,000-hour goal. Learn more about the other volunteer events we participated in to reach our goal this past year!
