In an effort to reach our ambitious volunteer goal of 13,000 hours this year, tms has already hosted a variety of initiatives across the globe to better our local communities! All these efforts are part of our Better Future Blueprint, a framework that compels us to create a brighter future for people and our earth everyday through corporate social responsibility, environmental commitments, volunteer efforts, and DE&I initiatives.

Learn how our colleagues put the Better Future Blueprint into action by supporting our local charities:

tms Seattle Adopts-a-Street

Members from tms Seattle and our sister company, Stanley, partnered with Adopt-a-Street to host a litter cleanup event around the Seattle office on May 7. Adopt-a-Street’s goal is to keep Seattle’s neighborhoods clean and waste-free, encouraging companies and individuals alike to commit to maintaining a certain street. The event was a great success, with 242 pounds of trash collected throughout the area!

Fulton Market Cleanup

tms and HAVI Chicago joined forces with McDonald’s and other local partners on April 25 for a clean-up day around the Fulton Market neighborhood! This was a fun day helping the community that surrounds our Chicago headquarters by picking up litter off the streets. Roughly 130 volunteers assembled groups and dispersed throughout the neighborhood to pick up trash on their designated street and document any public improvements that need to be made. tms volunteers ended up picking up 500 pounds of trash and 300 pounds of recycling, demonstrating what a positive impact we made!

tms London visits Buttercup Sanctuary

The London office visited Buttercup Sanctuary for Goats on April 30. The group helped with tasks like sweeping the yard, spreading hay, painting fences, preparing the evening’s veggies, and more – plus there were plenty of goats to pet!

Chicago Toiletry Drive

A toiletry donation drive was held in the Chicago Headquarters during April, where we collected shampoo, lotion, soap, toothpaste, and more to donate to the 19th District Mutual Aid Group. On May 2, there was a packaging event in the office to help get all the toiletry donations prepped and ready to take to the organization.

I love that our employees are encouraged to volunteer through the Better Future Blueprint, and we’re empowered to organize events in support of causes that we care about. I have always been passionate about volunteering and was moved by my experience bringing breakfast to those seeking shelter at the 19th District Police Station in Lakeview, so I knew this would be an impactful partnership.

tms Duisburg volunteers at Immersat e.V

The tms Duisburg team volunteered with Immersatt e.V. on April 10 to help make sandwiches and deliver them to children at local schools throughout Duisburg. Immersatt e.V. is a local organization in Duisburg providing direct, non-bureaucratic help to children living in poverty by supplying them with healthy food, among other necessities. tms helped the organization meet their quota of preparing 800 sandwiches per day.

tms London visits RMHC

On March 28, our London office volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in hopes of brightening up the space just in time for spring, so ten tms volunteers provided their helping hand at the RMHC Camberwell house. The day was meant to be full of gardening and cleaning, but due to the unpredictable weather conditions, the dedicated volunteers graciously lent their time to support RMHC Camberwell by cleaning the house and ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment for families in need.

Bird Conservation with tms Shenzhen

To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, tms Shenzhen held a company-wide, family-friendly birdwatching activity, along with monetary donations to The Nature Conservancy! The volunteers were able to spend time together and join a tutor who gave the group a lesson on the various categories of birds in the park, along with instructions and tips for how to best bird watch. Afterward, they went out into the conservatory and saw more than 20 categories of birds!

tms employees in Australia Clean Up

In early March, tms employees in Australia and RMHC participated in “Clean-Up Australia Day.” The team spent the morning scouring the local streets around McDonald’s Australian office in Sydney for litter, while ensuring that all recyclable materials collected were placed back into the recycling stream. This was another great example of working together for a common cause.
